Every November, CHS Hort features a different Charleston neighborhood during our annual Fall Garden Tour. These private gardens, maintained by the homeowners themselves, offer a unique glance at the inspiration and dedication of Lowcountry gardeners. Our tours feature CHS Hort trained certified docents and volunteers who are available to answer questions about the gardens and plant material along this self-guided tour.

Past tours include: Kiawah Island, Wagener Terrace, Riverland Terrace, Seabrook Island, West Ashley, Daniel Island and Sullivans Island.

Each year Charleston Horticultural Society partners with the Garden Conservancy and Spoleto Festival USA for the Behind the Garden Gate Tour.

Held on the first two Saturdays of the Spoleto Festival, the garden tours give visitors an exclusive peek behind the garden gates of some of downtown Charleston’s most private and unique home gardens.

Each weekend features a different selection of private gardens, promising two full days of exploration and beauty in these artfully cultivated spaces.
