Our educational Lecture Series, FREE to current CHS members, welcomes horticultural experts from near and far to share their experiences and expertise on a variety of subjects from landscape design and preservation to butterflies and world travel. All lectures are tailored to be relevant to gardening and growing here in the Lowcountry and are attended by over 1,500 members and visitors each season.

All lectures begin at 6:30pm and last approximately one hour

PARKING OPTIONS:
Queen Street Lot: On Mondays after 5pm lecture attendees can park in the bricked off parking lot on Queen St. between Church and Meeting Streets (one block away from the theatre). The lot is on the left side of the street after you pass by the Dock Street Theatre. Please only park in one of the 25 spaces marked South State Bank parking

Cumberland Garage: You may also park in the Cumberland Street Parking Garage at the corner of Church and Cumberland Streets. This lot is only a less than two minute walk to the theatre. 

Street Parking: The theatre is in a residential area with parking limited to one hour. Metered parking is also available for up to two hours along many nearby streets.

    Join us at the Queen Street Playhouse for our February lecture speaker Andrew Bunting, Vice President of Public Gardens and Landscapes with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. A recognized and accomplished leader in public horticulture, Bunting has also held senior leadership positions with the Chicago Botanic Garden and Atlanta Botanical Gardens

    Gardening for Pollinators: Why it is important and how we can make a difference

    A native of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, Charlotte is a graduate of Middlebury College and holds Master’s degrees in environmental studies and education, both of which continue to inform her perspectives about the world, the environment and ways to share those insights with others.

    Thomas Woltz is the owner of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects. Over the past two decades of practice Thomas and his team have infused narratives of the land into the places where people live, work, and play, engendering stewardship and inspiring connections between people and the natural world.
